Rochester, Mich. – January 17, 2024 – Healthcare management and physician organization MedNetOne Health Solutions (MedNetOne) has been included on Crain’s year-end compilation of largest physician organizations in Michigan in the 39th edition of “The Book 2024.” Offering infrastructure, technology, and clinical services to nearly 1,000 private practice physicians and other independent care providers, MedNetOne ranked 11th on the list, which was part of an annual report on the state of business in metro Detroit.
Throughout 2023, MedNetOne continued to champion a number of innovative programs that directly reached area residents and ensured Michigan had access to quality healthcare. Under the leadership of CEO and co-founder Ewa Matuszewski, the organization partnered with its nonprofit learning organization, Practice Transformation Institute, to train and educate much-needed community health workers (CHWs) using an in-person and virtual curriculum. As members of the public health workforce, CHWs connect individuals with resources, advocate for communities of all socioeconomic backgrounds, and serve as a conduit between the community and the many facets of the healthcare system.
MedNetOne also championed Medicaid redetermination efforts in Southeast Michigan. Partnering with nonprofits such as The Salvation Army Harbor Light, community groups and multiple Michigan Medicaid payors, the organization has been helping metro Detroiters—who are at risk of losing coverage if they don’t reapply for eligibility consideration—renew their Medicaid benefits by the July 24, 2024 deadline. In a pilot Medicaid renewal program, which launched October 23 and ran for one week, the partnership achieved contact with an estimated 1,500 residents overall. In addition, MedNetOne’s support for renewal efforts have been ongoing, including December sessions held at the Detroit Public Library.
MedNetOne’s deep roots in providing community-based health programs has also involved hosting more than 150 pop-up vaccination clinics in underserved Southeast Michigan communities and ethnic enclaves throughout the pandemic and beyond. The organization seeks creative but practical efforts to provide services to those impacted by the social determinants of health (SDOH).
