Rochester, Mich. – June 7, 2019 – MedNetOne Health Solutions (MedNetOne), a health care management organization offering infrastructure, clinical and technology services to more than 900 private practice physicians and other independent care providers, including behavioral health specialists, has been named to the “Largest Michigan Physician Organizations” list published by Crain’s Detroit Business on June 3. Ranked by number of physicians, MedNetOne is positioned as the 12th largest physician organization in the state.
Under the visionary leadership of CEO Ewa Matuszewski—who was recognized as a 2019 Crain’s Health Care Hero in the same issue—MedNetOne, which now describes itself as a Patient Care Organization rather than a Physician Organization, champions efforts in primary care that are frequently ahead of their time. For example, MedNetOne recently collaborated with Judson Center—a multi-county human service agency offering autism programs, behavioral health services, and child and family services including foster care and adoption—to provide clinical oversight and staffing for Judson’s new integrated primary care clinic based in Warren, Michigan. Since the opening of the Judson Center Family Health Clinic in February, a MedNetOne physician, mid-level provider, dietician, exercise specialist, and community health worker have been providing primary care health services integrated with mental health care to existing Judson Center consumers, including children from low-income backgrounds, in addition to serving people of all ages and from surrounding communities.
MedNetOne is also involved with a variety of other broad-based primary care initiatives, including the Patient-Centered Medical Home, the Patient-Centered Medical Home Neighborhood and the High Intensity Care Management (HICM) model for the frail, elderly and homebound population. The organization is actively engaged in healthcare and community education efforts to raise awareness of the role that Social Determinants of Health (#SDOH) play in overall health and wellness, partnering with the Oakland University School of Health Sciences in April 2018 to jointly present a first-of-its kind #SDOH symposium in Michigan called Better Upstream Health for Better Downstream Care. The Healthology symposium returned in May 2019 with the theme #SDOH: It Takes a Team and will be back in 2020 to look at comprehensive systems of care that address poverty, social injustice and health care inequities.
