Rochester, Mich. –December 4, 2019 –MedNetOne Health Solutions (MedNetOne), a health care management organization offering infrastructure, clinical and technology services to more than 900 private practice physicians and other independent care providers, including behavioral health specialists, announced its chief medical officer, Algyrdas (Al) Juocys, D.O. has received the first Lawrence Abramson Distinguished Service Award from the Wayne, Oakland and Macomb County Osteopathic Medical Associations.  The award was presented at the annual meeting of the Michigan Osteopathic Association in November by Dr. Craig Magnatta, Oakland County Osteopathic Medical Association (OCOMA) Executive Director.

The Lawrence Abramson Distinguished Service Award is named after the late Dr. Abramson, past Executive Director of OCOMA, and was created to honor physicians dedicated to their patients, their community, and their state and county osteopathic agencies. Dr. Juocys is one of the original physician co-founders of MedNetOne. In addition to his responsibilities for MedNetOne, he established Country Creek Commons Family Practice in Rochester, Michigan, which champions the most current patient-focused approaches to primary care, including the patient centered-medical home, home visits for the frail and elderly, and coordinate team-based care through MedNetOne’s Community Care Travel Team. 

Dr. Juocys has long been active in Michigan’s osteopathic associations. He was named the 2006 Family Physician of the Year by the Michigan Association of Osteopathic Family Physicians (MAOFP).  He is a past president of the Oakland County Osteopathic Association and held the position of Chair at the Department of Family Medicine at Crittenton (now known as Ascension Providence Rochester) Hospital.

Dr. Juocys is a retired, decorated State Surgeon General of the Army National Guard.  He was deployed for an active tour of duty in Iraq in 2004 and 2006 and also participated in relief efforts to provide medical assistance to the victims of Hurricane Katrina at Fort Custer in 2005. He is a graduate of the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSUCOM) and in 2010, received the MSUCOM Dean’s award for meritorious contribution in 2010.
