  • Healthfinder 
    A service of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, this site lets you search health topics alphabetically, find resources in your local community, get the latest health news, learn about health management tools and more.
  • MedlinePlus 
    A service of the National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health, the site features searchable health topics, drug information, directories, dictionaries and current health news.
  • National Library of Medicine (NLM) 
    The National Library of Medicine features the world’s largest biomedical library. NLM maintains and makes available a vast print collection and produces electronic information resources on a wide range of topics. It also supports and conducts research, development and training in biomedical informatics and health information technology. The Library also coordinates a 6,000-member National Network of Libraries of Medicine that
    promote and provide access to health information in communities across the U.S.

The U.S. government’s official site has a wealth of easily searchable information on diseases and how to prevent them, tips on staying well and traveling safely, as well as statistics and research.

  • Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
    CMS is the official government agency for Medicare and Medicaid information, eligibility, enrollment and services. It also features guides, regulatory oversight, data reporting and ratings for healthcare providers, outreach and education programs and more.
  • U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) 
    HHS is the U.S. government’s principal agency for protecting the health of all Americans and providing essential human services, especially for those who are least able to help themselves.
  • Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) 
    HIMSS is a global, cause-based, not-for-profit organization focused on better health through information technology. HIMSS leads efforts to optimize health engagements and care outcomes using information technology.
  • The Joint Commission (TJC)
    An independent, not-for-profit organization, The Joint Commission accredits and certifies more than 20,500 healthcare organizations and programs in the U.S. Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting certain performance standards.
  • Medicare 
    This is the official government site for all things Medicare, including
    information, forms, eligibility and other resources.
  • State of Michigan
    Michigan’s official website features information, resources and links
    about the State and its services including health and public safety.
  • Michigan In Brief 
    Michigan in Brief: 2002–03, prepared and published by Public Sector Consultants, Inc., provides useful information about the state and an objective look at more than 40 public policy topics of current concern to Michigan residents and their elected representatives.
