DESCRIPTION:\nTwo Topics\n \nTopic One\nCAHPS: Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey. Why this patient experience of care survey is important to the PCP and practice team.\nCAHPS is considered the national standard for measuring and reporting on patients’ experiences with health plans, physicians and the services provided.  CAHPS surveys measure your patients’ perception of the quality of care received, such as the ease of access and health care services and the patient/provider relationship, including the communication skills of physicians and the care team.\nWe will review the current survey questions and provide advice on how to get your patients to return the completed surveys.\nTopic Two\nProvider Directory: Why physicians and Advanced Practice Providers must regularly verify the information appearing in provider directories and promptly update that information.\nPrinted directories need to be updated, dated, and refer to the health plan website for more current information.  At least every 90 days, the health plan must verify directory information and update their database.
